Driver reported a non payment of fare from the Lakes to Harwich. A patient when asked for pre payment of fare promised the driver that he had money at his destination and would pay him on arrival. This was backed up by a member of staff at the Lakes who assured the driver that he would have the money and if there were any problems to come back to see her and she would make sure he was paid. The driver did not get paid by the patient. Returning to the Lakes for payment he was told there was nothing she could do except give the driver a phone number and to persue the matter with another member of staff. Lies from Patients from the Lakes is expected but from a member of staff is unacceptable, it would seem that some of the staff will say any thing to get rid of their patients. This is becoming a problem with work coming from the Lakes, reports of drivers arriving to pick up patients who do not have the means to pay and in some cases taking customers to the Lakes who do not pay on arrival.
